Renting & tropical-home reality
A beautiful photograph cannot tell you how a home breathes, dries, drains or works in the wet season. Use your viewing to investigate the life you will actually have there.

In this chapter
Spend time in Uvita, Ojochal and Dominical before committing to a long stay. Test your everyday trips and consider access to groceries, medical care, internet and your preferred community. Visit in different weather if you can.
Ask what the quoted rent includes and get the answer in writing: electricity, water, internet, pool care, garden care and maintenance. An inexpensive rent can become a different budget once cooling, access and household responsibilities are clear.
- Confirm dates, deposit, currency, cancellation and notice terms.
- Ask who pays for breakages versus normal wear and what approval is needed before repairs.
- Check pet rules, guests, work-from-home suitability and noise.
- Photograph the move-in condition and note existing damage together.
